Background
After completing his honors diploma in Business Administration, Jim obtained his Chartered Accountants degree.
Jim worked for several years as a partner in a large firm of Chartered Accounts becoming the firm's managing partner.
In 1991 Jim opened a Money Concepts office which soon grew to one of the largest and most respected offices in Money Concepts. He was a standing member of the Money Concepts Chairman's Club as one of Canada's top achievers in the financial planning industry. In 2000 Jim obtained his second professional degree CFP (Chartered Financial Planner).
In 2005, Jim and his office associates joined Independent Planning Group, a local dealer which provides excellent support in computer, compliance, training and estate planning.
Business Philosophy
"I always work in the best interest of my clients." Jim works in the areas of tax planning, retirement and estate planning. Heavy emphasis is placed on capital and income preservation.
Involvement in the Community
Jim has played various leading roles in the Ottawa community and was president of the Ottawa Carleton Association for Persons with Developmental Disabilities, a member of the Hospital Advisory Board of the Carleton and District Health Council and a member of the Student Advisory Board of Carleton University. He was the founder and the president of the Business Club at Algonquin College.
A family man, he has two children and three grandchildren. Jim loves the outdoors and his passion is golf.
